3 Simple Halloween Decorating & Safety Tips

When you are a kid Halloween is all about dressing up and eating as much candy as possible. However, the older you get, the more your concerns shift from candy and fun, to safety and protecting your children. Even if you live in the nicest and most secure community in the the world, there will still be many safety issues to think about. In this week’s blog let’s go over safety and decor.

Pumpkin bowl: cut a large pumpkin in half and thoroughly clean it out. Once you are done use it as a Halloween pumpkin bowl or mixed drink bowl. If you are looking to really wow your guest, decorate the bottom half with a scary Jack-o-Lantern face using markers or paint.

Reflective tape: Halloween happens primarily at night and on busy streets. Visibility of your children should be your no. 1 safety concern. Purchase some reflective tape, the kind bike rides use and place it on your kids costume.

Use lights on your doorway: if you plan to pass out candy, be sure to decorate your doorway with lights. Apartments can be dark and a poorly lit walkway leading to your apartment is the perfect way to create an accident.
